TAX ADVISORY & PLANNING

Tax Advisory in Pakistan

Planning to start a business, buy or sell property, or receive income from abroad? The tax effect of a decision is set at the moment you make it — not when you file the return. Our tax advisory looks at your situation before you act, explains what the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 and the Sales Tax Act 1990 allow, and tells you the lowest-risk way to proceed.

OUR SERVICE

What Our Tax Advisory Covers

Tell us what you are planning or what is worrying you. We review the relevant records, set out your options and the tax effect of each, and give you a clear recommendation in writing.

Tax Position Review

We review your returns, wealth statements and IRIS records and point out gaps, mismatches and exposure before FBR does.

Business Structure Advice

Sole proprietor, AOP or private limited company — we compare the tax cost, compliance load and withholding impact of each before you register or restructure.

Salary & Income Planning

Allowances, exempt income, tax credits and the timing of income — planned within the Income Tax Ordinance 2001, not around it.

Property & Investments

Advance tax on property purchase and sale, capital gains on property and securities, and the records to keep so the source of funds is clear.

Freelancer & Export Income

The reduced regime for IT exporters and freelancers comes with conditions — PSEB registration, banking-channel remittances and correct reporting on IRIS.

Filer Status & ATL

How to stay on the Active Taxpayers List, what late filing now costs, and how filer status changes your withholding on banking, vehicles and property.

Who Needs Tax Advisory

Business Owners

Starting, expanding or converting a business and wanting the tax cost settled before the decision is made.

Salaried Professionals

Higher earners with more than one income source, foreign income or significant investments.

Overseas Pakistanis

Non-residents with property, bank accounts or rental income in Pakistan, and questions about residential status.

Freelancers & IT Exporters

Earning in foreign currency and wanting the reduced tax regime applied correctly from the start.

Property Buyers & Sellers

Planning a purchase or sale and wanting the advance tax and gain worked out before the deal is signed.

Why Advice Before the Decision Matters

Most of the tax problems we are asked to fix were created months earlier — when a property was bought with funds that were never declared, a business was registered in the wrong form, or foreign income landed in a personal account with no thought for how it would be reported. By the time a notice arrives, the only option left is to explain what has already happened.

Advice given before the decision is cheaper and leaves more options open. Choosing the right business structure at registration costs far less than changing it later. Documenting the source of funds before a property purchase is far easier than reconstructing it during an audit under Section 177.

Our advice is practical and written for your facts. We tell you what the law allows, what it does not, and where the line is — because planning within the Ordinance is legitimate, and anything beyond it eventually turns into a notice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Return filing reports what has already happened. Tax advisory looks at what you are about to do — or at something that has gone wrong — and tells you the lawful, lowest-risk way to handle it under the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 and the Sales Tax Act 1990.

Yes. Using exemptions, tax credits, the correct business structure and the right timing is legitimate. Concealing income or misreporting assets is evasion. Our advice stays on the right side of that line.

Yes. Many clients come to us before one transaction — a property sale, a large gift, a foreign remittance or a business purchase — to know the tax effect in advance.

Yes. We advise non-residents on residential status, Pakistan-source income, property transactions and the documents needed to file correctly.

Then advice alone is not enough. Our FBR notice reply and representation service takes over — we draft the reply, appear at hearings and file appeals where needed.

It depends on the complexity of the question and how much review is needed. Send us your question and we will quote a fixed fee before we start.
